Despite what you may have heard, Miriam Rocek is not real.

She is a legend - a rumor exagerated far beyond the realm of truth.

Those who claim to have heard her eldrictch cries out on the moon lit moors are either mad or lying.

Nevertheless the stories persist and there are those who claim to have seen, even spoken with Miriam Rocek, to have visited her dwelling, a place usually described as like going inside a living jellyfish, made of mirrors. No doubt many of them actually believe what they say. Such is the power of myth and folklore to alter human perception.

Presents the first ever Beard Team USA contest in

St. Croix

as part of

MARDI CROIX SEASON

Saturday 24 January 2009

in cooporation with St Croix Beard Team USA

to be held on Queen Cross Street in Christensted

Two primary divisions will include REAL and ARTIFICAL facial hair contestants.

note - artifical will permit children and ladies to compete!

Each division will be devided into Beards and Moustaches.

Prizes will be awarded for each Fairy Tale character represented

Hairy Faces in Paradise from Fairy Tales in Paradise

It will cost $20 to enter,

but if you sign up before Saturday the 24th of January 2009

see any KREWE de CROIX representative and

you get a 50% discount.

Registration will close at noon on Saturday 24 January 2009
activites will be near the WEB CAM on the boardwalk
Contestants check in at 2:00 pm for instructions

Strutters Parade at 3:00 pm

this will be spectators and fans chance to take photo's, interview and buy the contestants a brew

Judging and Prizes at 4:00 pm

Winners will receive offical BTUSA certificates, pins and other prizes to be determined.

Fee's will go to reimburse KREWE de CROIX for expenses
